SmartBay improves access to information for management and sustainable development of the diverse coastal and ocean resources in Placentia Bay.

Wind south-southwest 20 to 25 knots this morning as a trough over the Gulf of St. Lawrence slowly tracks into Newfoundland. Winds diminish to south 15 to 20 knots Friday afternoon as the trough stalls just west of Placentia Bay. Winds further diminish to south 10 to 15 knots on Saturday as the trough weakens. Poor visibility continues into Saturday. Temperatures remain steady between 15 and 17 degrees through Saturday.

The new WatchKeeper buoy located at Come By Chance Point is now on station and reporting on the SmartBay.ca website and on SmartBay Mobile. Many thanks to Canadian Coast Guard for their cooperation and assistance in getting the new buoys deployed.
